ASTANO, FACTORIA CADIZ, BAZAN FERROL, BAZAN CARTAGENA and
BAZAN SAN FERNANDO.

Four Activity Lines

The activities of Navantia have been articulate around four lines of activity:

Shipbuilding

Includes the construction of last genaration naval vessels with state of the art technology.
The integration of Navantia's production centres is brought about through specialisation in different types of vessel, led by a general directorate and supported by a strong Technical Office.
The shipyards that make up this area have an extensive experience and have built vessels for the whole world. They have an extremely wide range of products, going from sophisticated frigates to aircraft carriers, submarines, corvettes, strategic projection ships, amphibious multipurpose ships, mine hunters.

Diesel Engines

Our vocation is continuous innovation, taking part in the development of new propulsion and power generation systems, diversifying the application of traditional products, optimising resource usage and making a commitment to protecting the environment.
Cartagena Engine Factory maintains cooperation agreements with the leading manufacturers of engines (MAN-B&W, MTU, Caterpillar Inc.)

Repair & Conversions

Navantia's shiprepair centres, strategically, located on the Iberian peninsula, constitute a unique offer in Europe, for both civil and military vessels..
The integration of all the centres will enable full advantage to be taken of commercial synergy and allow coordination of work, which may even previously have been carried out in competition.

Control and Combat Systems

Within Navantia, the Area of Systems and Weapons is covered by the San Fernando factory, which specialises in combat systems and naval weapons, along with the factory at Cartagena, specialising in management and control.
The first of these factories has many years experience in developing combat systems, and is currently collaborating with Lockheed Martin on the installation of the Aegis systems on the Spanish frigates.
For its part, Cartagena specialises in the design and development of computerised vessel control systems (navigation, engines, etc.) and modern management and maritime safety systems.
